Guests of Rotarians - Nada

Announcements -

Michael Green was asking for sign ups to help pack books for the Book Exchange. This shipment will be going to kids in the Phillipines.
Pack Days are Saturday and Sunday, October 28 and 29th from 9:30 to 4. Any part of that time will help.
Susanne will be signing up members who wish to go on a tour of San Quentin on Wednesday, November 15th from 10 - 1 - or longer if you show up in blue jeans. There is room for 14 people. Culley rates the tour 5 star incredible.
The late, Fernando arrived at 12:40. Must have had a delivery.
Susan Angel is very excited for the number of Rotary Foundation raffle tickets that our club purchased. Our purchases totaled over $7000 which amounted to 65% of our club donating.

FineTime - Susanne was back in the saddle today selling excess Rotary pins at $5 each for those who were not wearing theirs.

Wedding Anniversaries - Nada
Club Anniversaries - David Shawn was celebrating 20 years and Elizabeth was 11 years.
Birthdays - Louis Napoli went to Boston College and then to Cape Cod. His wife left her wallet and ID at the last place before the airport and Louis told us a new way to get through all the checkpoints without ID. Good to know. Joe Bob Briggs somehow got birthday recognition from our club. Mark Lachtman does birthdays up right. Went to Italy for 4 weeks and drove a $450,000 Ferrari Spider at the Ferrari factory.
Good Times - Johnathon just came back from Boston were he was part of the Forbes Magazine Business Conference. Hard to imagine Johnathon, so laid back and reserved, being one of the speaker participants. Congratulations J.
Ron mentioned that one of our former exchange students, Pedro Ripol, will be visiting his former host families for 2 weeks in November. He will be joining us at the club lunch on November 16th. While Ron had the floor, he shared a good time attending The Albuquerque Balloon Festival. It was an incredible event unlike anything else worldwide.
Sydney gave a plug for her ability to delve into insurance policies to make sure you are getting what you deserve. This is important given all the fires and loss north of us.
Susan Angel gave a donation in honor of Valerie Joy returning to be our speaker for today. While she was up, she siad how proud she was of her son in the search and rescue group in Santa Rosa.
Speaker of the Day - Former member, Valerie Joy of Windfall Financial returned to tell us all about the ACA (Obamacare) and all the in and outs with her predictions of how it all might be affected by the new legislation.

Spin the Wheel - Someone won 1/2 the pot.
